HSE Position Statement During the Pandemic – Annual refresher training

If first aiders are unable to access annual refresher training face to face during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, HSE supports the use of online refresher training to keep their skills up to date. You may read their full position on workplace first aid here.

We are able and are providing this training across the UK with Education & Training being allowed during the latest restrictions to support Organisations and their workforce in Health & Safety compliances.

Employers, who invest and support their workforce, will usually have robust systems in place to ensure that their current workplace first aiders in between renewal training courses. Having a robust systematic approach to annual refresher training will not only ensure all first aiders are supported, but maintain their key skills in incident management, Basic Life Support, contacting the Emergency Medical Services, where required or liaising with in-house medical professionals, such as Company Doctors and Occupational Nurses.
