Early Years Paediatric First Aid

Who is this training for?

This training is for individuals who may have to respond to a casualty suffering from a sudden allergic reaction. Covering the safe and correct use of Adrenaline Auto Injectors.

How long will it take?

To complete this qualification learners will undertake a minimum of three hours of learning. You may choose a full face to face training course or complete a blended course where learners complete 1 hour of on-line learning with assessments, followed by two hours of face to face practical learning and final assessment. Training includes the use of Automatic Adrenaline Injectors, Basic Life Support, Infant, Child & Adult.

Topics covered

UK Approved AAI pens for use in Anaphylactic Reactions.
EpiPen, Jext Pen. Emmerade Pen

Topics include common triggers in the population, the early recognition and symptoms of someone having an severe allergic reaction, immediate treatments and actions to be carried out including deploying the patients own auto-injector, alerting the Emergency Medical Services, detailed understanding of how each device works that is licenced for UK use and caring for the casualty until the Emergency Ambulance arrives.

Assessment method

This qualification is assessed by a practical demonstration and a multiple-choice theory test.
