Level 3 First Aid at Work – Low to Medium Risk Areas – Remote First Aid
The three-day first aid at work – Low to medium risk areas is aimed at those that require a more advanced level of first aid knowledge within the workplace. Typical learners include all those working in and around offices, shops and buildings with easy access to the Emergency Medical Services. Attending this training meets the HSE Health & Safety Regulations 1974. This training includes the identification and correct use of the newly introduced and updated 2019 BSi workplace first aid kits.
All our first aid courses fully meet the UK and European Resuscitation Guidelines as per the HSE requirements (2015 are the latest guidelines). Remote First Aid only deliver qualifications recognised by the HSE as either via an Awarding Organisation or Trade Body.
This qualification specification outlines key information required by employers and learners to ensure they are able to make an informed decision in regards to the qualifications they are undertaking. It is recommended that those undertaking this training hold literacy and numeracy skills at Level 2 as a minimum. No previous first aid knowledge is required to attend. Learners must be aged 16 years plus to operate as a first aider in the workplace. Those successfully completing this training, will meet the HSE requirements for first aiders in the workplace where an employers needs assessment has deemed this necessary.
Assessment & Certification
Learners are assessed by means of practical demonstrations alongside oral and written questioning throughout and a final multi-choice exam paper on the last session of the training.
Those successfully passing will be awarded a First Aid at Work – certificate that is valid for 3-years.
The HSE strongly advise that all workplace first aiders undertake at least annually the recommended three-hour workplace first aider refresher course in between renewal courses to be able to demonstrate skills are maintained and that CPD has taken place.
At the three year point, first aid at work certificate holders can attend a two-day update qualification course before their current certificate expires. Successfully completing this two-day requalification course will enable the first aid at work certificate holder to continue their first aid duties for their employer.
