Emergency Paediatric First Aid
Who is this qualification for?
Those attending this training will learn the key life saving skills in Emergency Paediatric first aid for infants and young children in the home or voluntary setting, such as pre or after school clubs, childminding or nannies.
How long will it take?
To complete this qualification learners will undertake a minimum of six hours of learning excluding breaks.
Topics include the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first-aider and providing first aid for an infant or a child who is unresponsive and breathing normally. The qualification also covers how to administer first aid to an infant or a child who is choking or suffering from hypovolemic shock and how to treat minor injuries including burns.
This qualification is assessed by a practical demonstration and a multiple-choice theory test.
