Who is this qualification for?
This course is designed to meet the requirements of ILS courses laid down by UK Resus Council guidelines. This CPD course meets the criteria for the General Dental Council’s development outcomes C.
How long will it take?
To complete this training learners are required undertake six hours of learning. This course can be completed fully face to face or as blended option whereby learners complete five hours of on-line learning followed by one hour of skills assessment.
The aim is to train healthcare personnel in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, simple airway management and safe defibrillation, enabling them to manage patients in cardiac arrest until the arrival of a cardiac arrest team and to participate as members of that team. The course is run over one day and consists of lectures and practical sessions or students may choose to complete five hours of ILS on-line learning and assessment, which is then followed by a practical skills assessment with our approved tutors at our centres.
Learners completing the on-line learning are required to be then assessed by a practical demonstration and completing a multiple-choice theory test paper for full recognition by the GDC. Certification issued is valid for one-year. Registrants are required to attended and complete this training annually.
