Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is aimed at learners who are required to hold a Level 3 first aid qualification at Level 3. This qualification will assist those applying for their Close Protection Officer Licence who will be able to demonstrate that they hold the skills and knowledge required in that application.

How long will it take?

To gain this qualification learners will be required to complete 12 hours of on-line learning and assessments that will underpin knowledge prior to attending the full four days face to face classroom training.

Topics covered

The qualification covers knowledge such as the roles and responsibilities of the Initial Person on Scene, how to assess an incident and recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness within the context of the Close Protection Officer role. The qualification includes more advanced skills in airway management, spinal immobilisation, casualty care for extended periods which includes observations and record keeping, communication with other services, emergency evacuation and extended care.

Assessment method

This qualification is assessed by on-line assessment, practical demonstrations and a final multiple-choice theory test.
