This is a lifetime award. It is expected that professional trainers to be able to demonstrable teaching and training log alongside providing suitable CPD records in teaching and training.

There are no formal requirements but it is recommended that learners have a level 2 in literacy before registering for the qualification.

How long will it take?


Course content

We have an informal, practical, hands-on approach, and it doesn’t matter what kind of training you have to deliver, this programme is all about giving you the skills and confidence to do it well!

  • Preparing for training delivery
  • Selection of delivery methods and resources to meet the needs of the subject and of the learners
  • Preparing a simple timed plan
  • Selection of delivery strategies
  • Training material and resources
  • Using assessment strategies during delivery
  • Training delivery evaluation and feedback

Assessment method

This qualification is assessed by a practical assessment and a self-evaluation report.

  • Practical Assessment: Learners must practically demonstrate the delivery of two microteaching sessions totalling 40 minutes which demonstrates a suitable level of achievement against each assessment criteria. Learners must also produce a simple timed plan which should accompany the assessment pack.
  • Self- Evaluation: This should be written by the learner and be submitted with the assessment pack.
  • Outcome is Pass or Fail

Learners completing this training may wish to consider enhancing and developing their training skills even further by completing a nationally recognised Generic Education & Training Award that we offer, these include:
