Who is this qualification for?

The course is suitable for existing First Aid Instructors, wishing to deliver the Outdoor First Aid syllabus to people involved in Outdoor Activities and working in an environment where individuals are likely to find themselves at risk.

This is a 2-day course held at various outdoor activity centres throughout the UK. We can deliver an on-site course if you have a number of delegates wishing to undertake it.

How long will it take?

On the first day of the course you will be taught the 1-day level 2 qualification. You will then be given a micro-teaching session to deliver to your peers on day 2 of the course.

The course price includes all refreshments and lunch. You will also receive access to the on-line Instructor Portal, for all your course training materials and student notes.

Prerequisite to joining

Applications are invited from outdoor instructors holding a recognised NGB Award or Awards in outdoor sports activities, such as those awarded by Mountain Training, British Canoeing, & British Cycling MTB. And who are approved and deliver Workplace first aid training meeting the HSE Regulations of at least six FAW deliveries in the past three years.

Assessment method

This training is assessed by practical assessments and peer and self-evaluation reports. Learners will need to practically demonstrate the delivery of either 1 or 2 micro-teaching sessions totalling 20 to 30 minutes each.

Certification

You will be issued Remote First Aid & Pre-Hospital Care Training Instructor Certificate, as well as a Level 3 Ofqual regulated certificate. The qualification is valid for 3 years, after which you will need to attend a re-qualification course.
