Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is designed to prepare trainee teachers to teach in a wide range of contexts. It requires observation and assessment of practice and the range of optional units available provide opportunities to contextualise the qualification for different learning environments.
In order to complete this qualification, learners are required to:
- be a minimum of 19 years of age
- be able to demonstrate the necessary standards of English and Mathematics skills
required to undertake this qualification. This can be evidenced through relevant
and current (meaning within the last 5 years) certificates or you can complete
an assessment with us prior to the course
- There is no requirement to complete the Level 3 Award in Education and Training before commencing this qualification
How long will it take?
The total qualification time for this qualification is 360 hours and of this 140 hours will be guided by your tutors. Therefore delegates are required to complete over 200 hours of self-led study, research and assignment writing prior to attending the five straight classroom days with their tutors. This allows for portfolio reading, re-working any work that may require additional information and portfolio sign-offs by your tutors. Delegates have five calendar months from enrolment to complete their portfolio.
These include understanding roles and responsibilities, planning to meet the needs of learners, delivering, assessing learners and using resources for education and training, as well as an extensive range of optional units.
This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence.
