    Pete Cook Remote First Aid Director
    Pete Cook – Managing Director & Head of Centre

    Pete has a wealth of experience across many sectors, including Mountain Leadership, frontline NHS Emergency Ambulance Services, and Voluntary Rescue Services. Pete also provides Subject Matter Expert services to a wide range of qualification bodies in England & Wales, writing course materials, and setting exam papers. Pete maintains his pre-hospital skills working in the private ambulance sector and will be found at events providing emergency care.

    Pete is an active member of the British Association for Immediate Care (BASICS) and completes the BASICS Emergency Care Course each year to fulfill his own CPD needs, alongside his membership of the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care, and sees Pete operating at level F on the UK PHEM.

    Pete’s Health & Safety qualifications & expertise see him delivering up to Level 4 Management Health & Safety Training. Pete holds the First Aid Diploma in Mental Health, delivering a wide range of skills to management teams on building resilience in the workforce. In his downtime, you will find Pete based out of his camper van, climbing, trekking, and exploring.

Their leadership ensures that course content is both practical and adaptable, drawing on real-world scenarios based on years of field experience.

    Martin advocates for the strategic placement of emergency equipment in remote locations and supports public campaigns to improve access to training for all.

    When not teaching or training, you will find Martin in the office sampling our course deliveries. Martin is head of quality assurance, which is a legal requirement within first aid training provision as part of the compliance systems in the UK, and also supports our training teams in maintaining their own compliance via the FAW Requalification for Trainers – Remote First Aid course deliveries.

    Franca (trainer) can be found in the high Alps in Italy, her homeland & around the world. Franca holds the Diploma in Mountain Medicine (DiMM) with a wide range of trekking experience, including to Everest Base Camp, and is found working on outdoor & expedition courses in the UK and Worldwide. Franca supports and advises Remote First Aid on matters relating to product development, such as new course designs.

    Franca’s expertise, fortified by holding the DiMM, has a tangible impact on their community and professional sphere. Through workshops, seminars, and direct mentorship, Franca shares the latest advances and best practices, empowering individuals to respond effectively to challenges in their unique contexts. You will find Franca providing skills workshops to other DiMM Members and aspirant members, and British Mountaineering Council Members in Hathersage and other unique places. Franca’s next talk is in Germany (September 2025) , highlighting the outdoor first aid requirements for UK outdoor instructors based on current thoughts.
