+ F Foresty First Aid for Natural England Staff

Remote First Aid are a Recognised Training Provider Under PPG 59 Forestry Operations 2024 Guidelines

Forestry England Guidelines within PPG 59 emphasises that Unit Managers must:

    • Assess first aid needs across forestry, recreation and public‑facing environments
    • Ensure staff hold appropriate, accredited qualifications
    • Use competent, approved training providers for specialist or high‑risk activities
    • Match training to real‑world hazards, remoteness and emergency response requirements

Remote First Aid meets these requirements and supports Unit Managers by delivering:

    • RQF First Aid at Work (FAW)
    • RQF Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
    • RQF Outdoor First Aid
    • RQF +F bolt‑on modules covering catastrophic bleed, forestry‑specific trauma and remote‑environment response

These qualifications directly mirror the training levels listed in PPG 59 for lone workers, harvesting teams, wildlife rangers, civil engineering crews and pesticide operations and public facing employees.

Why +F Matters Under PPG 59

PPG 59 now includes a formal definition of +F learning outcomes and requires +F training for many high‑risk forestry roles. Remote First Aid’s +F modules ensure staff are trained in:

    • Severe bleeding control
    • Tourniquet and haemostatic dressing use
    • Remote‑area casualty management
    • Forestry‑specific incident planning

This makes our training fully compliant with the updated 2024 policy and suitable for both core and non‑core operations.

    Supporting Unit Managers With Compliance

Remote First Aid helps Unit Managers meet their obligations by providing:

    • Accredited RQF qualifications recognised by OFQUAL
    • Training aligned with forestry hazards, remoteness and emergency planning
    • Clear documentation for needs assessments and refresher cycles
    • Competent trainers with current field experience
    • Options for operational training events requiring specialist endorsements

This ensures your unit’s first aid provision is robust, auditable and aligned with national guidance.

Trusted by Forestry, Outdoor Centres and Land‑Based Organisations

With RQF accreditation, +F bolt‑ons and specialist outdoor modules, Remote First Aid is a recognised, credible provider for organisations operating under PPG 59. Our training gives Unit Managers confidence that staff are prepared, compliant and capable of responding effectively in remote, hazardous or public‑facing environments.

Bodies that we support with this training includes Natural England who access and work on Forestry England sites. Remote First Aid also supports private contractors including Griffiths | Civil Engineering | We Build Better who require +F certifcation to work on Forestry England sites, across the Wye Valley, Bristol and West Country, who we proudly support with their +F training needs.
