Teaching & Assessing First Aid Qualifcations (RQF)
This Level 3 Award in Teaching and Assessing First Aid (RQF) prepares individuals to teach and assess regulated first-aid qualifications, suitable for workpalces and healthcare settings. It aligns with National Occupational Standards for Learning and Development, and reflects Resuscitation Council guidance alongside Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements. This qualification provides the essential foundation for a successful role in the first aid education sector.

Learners gain this qualification through five days of face‑to‑face training, supported by around 12 hours of online pre‑classroom learning. They prove their competence through a structured portfolio of evidence and a final multiple‑choice exam. Results are awarded as Pass or Fail, keeping the assessment clear, fair, and fully aligned with regulated‑sector expectations.
WHAT
This lifelong Regulated Qualification provides a nationally recognised, transferable credential for teaching and assessing first aid—far more robust than typical provider‑issued instructor certificates. The programme also prepares freelance trainers for working with centres and awarding organisations, covering essential responsibilities, quality assurance expectations, regulatory requirements, and professional obligations when delivering accredited first aid and first responder training.Course Content
Assessment Methods of Delegates

WHO
A qualification for those who want to deliver workplace and regulatory Basic Life Support and First Aid.Prerequisites to enrol in this course include the learner:

- – has a minimum of Level 2 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent

WHERE
Regular courses are delivered at our Chepstow Training Centre during the second week of each month. Remote First Aid also provides open enrolment courses at regional venues including Merthyr Tydfil (South Wales), Porthmadog (North Wales) and Cheshunt (Hertfordshire, just 20 minutes by overground from central London, with 2 minute walk to our training centre), offering flexible access for learners across Wales, London & South East England.
On‑site training is available at your premises for groups of 6–12 delegates, providing a convenient and cost‑effective way for teams to complete accredited first aid qualifications together.
